With well over two decades behind the decks and a decade of dedication to strictly drum and bass, Skanka!'s major influences range from 36hertz, Playaz, Zombie, Grid, V, Metalheadz etc ...classic hardcore breaks, garage, and jumpy vibes. Vibes over everything and in a mix you are likely to hear anything. "Skanka" says it all. It is not only universally known as a ska/reggae/punk step….. but also fully embodies a feeling in music.
SKANKA has been a staple in the underground music scene of Tulsa, OK since 2003... As a dj, his sets celebrate the myriad of styles of drum and bass. In his years of experience, it's lead him to play alongside some amazing artists, and vets without need to name drop. His acquired knowledge in studio recording, combined with his longtime love for drum and bass, and steady focus on production, has abled him to release multiple tracks with Grimey Grooves Recordings, Higher Level Recordings, You Don't Dance, and slated for more.
Skanka has been the reigns at Atmospheric Alignments for the last 3 years officially, and as a guest for years before that, From the friendship and collab with DJ Yaumbit, Skanka has made home on Bassdrive, and hopes to be here for many more therapy sessions.
